Antonis Kountouris studied Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. He then pursued his postgraduate degree, focusing on the study of insulated materials, at the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Cyprus. He is a PhD candidate of Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University (NTUA) in Athens and his research evolves around the development of construction materials deriving from the wastes of polymer material.
Antonis works as project manager for research and development at Nicolaides & Kountouris Metal Company Ltd, an award-winning family business (2014: Innovation Award by the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation; 2016: Eco-Innovation Awards by the European Platform, Eco-Innovation, Inneon).
Antonis exhibits a great interest and a distinctive sensitivity towards creative thinking. This led him to the voluntary organization of a series of presentations to elementary school students, in an endeavor to promote creativity. He is also the author of the book «Περί Δημιουργικότητας …με τη ματιά ενός 30άρη», (All About Creativity through the eyes of a 30-year old).
